Meet Phoenix his rescue tag #5936 with 2 other unhandled mares all with foals by their side from a kill pen in Texas in 2020. Two of the mares lost their foals and all were bred back and in terrible body condition. Over time, Phoenix learned to trust people and was started under saddle. Once broke to ride, she found her forever home with Maddy - a barrel racer here in AZ. It has been a privilege to see past the beat up bodies and scared faces to see a horse’s true potential so they can rise from the ashes like Phoenix.
Our generous donors make it possible for us to rescue, rehab and train horses like Phoenix. Our donors also help us keep adoption fees reasonable when the perfect home comes along.
